Another 2 weeks....

have gone by and no blog post from me.  Most of you probably haven't noticed, but nevertheless......I have been as a whole so unmotivated.  And it's one of those things, that once you get out of the habit, it's that much harder getting back into it.  I have tons to share and hopefully will be doing so soon.  We took this video of Gage Thurs. night......whenever it's bed time now and we want to read to him, he says, 'I want to read to myself.'  So that's just what he did.  Sorry the quality is crappy (I still don't know why people rave about iPhone videos) but it was the best I had at the moment.

Toddler Talk.....

According to most I've read, it seems that by age 3, 50% of your toddler's speech should be understandable to strangers.  I am sure that even parents who have kids with advanced vocabularies are still a little skewed when asked to make this judgement.  In our case, Gage seems to have quite an advanced vocabulary for his age and we get comments often about how much/well he speaks; however, I have realized recently that I probably understand WAY more of what he says then most others.  Not that that's not often the case, but in 'mommy' ears, 90% of what he says I understand.  Gage has actually begun stuttering lately and it's mostly when he strings 6 or more words together which makes sense.  I think his little brain is just thinking so hard of how to put the words together and his mouth is already running.  It has become a little more severe, but I do think it's natural.  In any case, I want to play a litte game.  Luke got about a 10 word sentence (no stuttering) on video the other night.  So let's see if you guys can tell what my little man is talking about!  Comment on your guesses!

Counting w/ Gage....

I always enjoy video clips on blogs, so I hope you'll enjoy this.  Gage just started this one day, so I figured I'd record it before he forgot!

We'll be out of town this weekend.  Going home to see the grandparents and to my very best friend from high school's baby shower!  She and her husband, Pete, are welcoming their 1st baby in late July- Benjamin Michael!  I couldn't be more thrilled!

Blowing Bubbles...

This video was taken about a month ago and I forgot to post it.  It was pretty long, so I cut it just to show you the good part.  Don't judge me for the mess my child has made with his bookcase.

Gage is walking!!

Ok, so maybe not really walking everywhere he goes, but he CAN walk. He just doesn't choose to. Ah well, I'm sure it's coming soon.

Anyway, Gage started this last weekend and someone brought it to my attention that I hadn't even blogged about it!! Are you kidding me? The moment we have been waiting for for like 4 months and I didn't even document it. I was too busy writing it down in our other baby book instead. Anyway, yes, I'm super excited to say that a week before he turned 15 months old, he can take steps. Watch out kitties, here he comes!

Wordless Wednesday- Videos

I guess not so wordless after all, but here are a few videos of Gage taken w/ our new Flip we got for Xmas. They're not very good but you can hear him clearly call me Babu when he sees  my picture and try to say Touchdown, which he does every time he sees a VT symbol.  And after posting these, I see how crappy they look.  This is not representative of the Flip, I think it's b/c it's an HD.  Although disappointing, b/c I was excited about how good they came out.

How big is Gage?

I know, I know, every kid Gage's age learns this and it's so super cute to their parents.  But just think, if he learned this in 15 mins. and still remembers it 3 days later, what else is he learning from us?  Here's my reminder to be more conscious.  And here's your reminder that my kid is stinkin' cute!
And yes Grandma, this one was for you!

Snowtorious B.I.G

Big surprise....tomorrow is Saturday and it's snowing! Gage already experienced one blizzard in his short life and now we're on #2. We have about 7-8ins right now outside but by morning there is supposed to be 2 feet and it's supposed to surpass 30 ins by tomorrow night. I can't complain though, I got to stay home twice this week with my hubby and baby and perhaps will get some more time off next week. Many are predicting we'll be out all week. If it weren't for snow mid week next week, I'd say we'd be back Thurs. or so, but who knows? AT least this will be one Super Bowl we don't have to worry about getting up early for work the next day. So Gage is becoming and having more fun by the moment. He loves to try and sit up, loves Phillip, a fish that hangs on his wall, is beginning to like tummy time and loves his activity mat. He had a play date with Jake this week and Jake tried to eat the lions on his feet! He is becoming so much more interactive and every day it is something new. Is it possible to love my baby more every day??

The following is a video of him talking to Phillip.
