Another week....

has gone by and you've heard nothing from me.  I am just way way too busy and every free moment I have, much like last summer is going to study.  We had a good time last weekend but I haven't even had time to post about that.  I didn't update you guys and I'm HALFWAY through my pregnancy which is totally crazy.  So here's a super quick update, complete with headless belly shot.

How far along: 20 weeks 6 days

Total weight gain: 13 lbs.

Stretch marks: Not yet, but round ligament pain is getting me  this time.

Maternity clothes: Oh yes

Sleep: busted out the Snoogle but haven't gotten comfortable with it yet.
Cravings: Just one Dr. Pepper!
Best moment this week: Seeing my sweet little baby today on the ultrasound and even getting some 4D pictures.
Movement: Yes, frequently now.  Still pretty small kicks for the most part.  I feel  like I felt Gage much more at this point; however, the other day I did see the baby try to bust open my tummy!
Gender: confirmed today, Gage is having a baby BROTHER!!!!  Crazy, I was so sure it was a girl....now I have to rethink everything.....AND find a name.
Labor signs: Heck no!

Bellybutton in or out: In
What I miss: Dr. Pepper!

What I am looking forward to: more movement and now decorating and planning for the new little guy!

Milestones: Getting to tell Gage he was having a baby brother and Luke getting to feel him kick!

We're off to the beach this week with friends, should be a good weekend.  But it's study study for me and no time to update on last weekend, Gage's school pictures or any of the other fun stuff.

19 weeks!

Try to get some pictures up later this week.  I'm on my own though (Luke's out of town 'til Wednesday) so who knows how much time I'll have.

How far along: 19 weeks 3 days

Total weight gain: 12 lbs.

Stretch marks: Not yet

Maternity clothes: Yes, pretty much everything now. Got some more borrows, thank God.

Sleep:  not much has changed.  Did have a dream that it was a boy, but had a dream a few weeks back it was  a girl??

Cravings: Salt and vinegar potato chips

Best moment this week: An adult dinner w/ friends while Mom and Dad watched Gage.
Movement: Yes, frequently now.  I love it, but it's still pretty small, can't wait for the big kicks

Gender: Usually it's Princess "I" if you ask Gage. Lovingly named after his one and only, Princess Pea, from Super Why! However, I know a girl whose Mom and her swear they have a 6th sense and say it's another
boy, so we'll see.....just 10 more days!!
Labor signs: Heck no!

Bellybutton in or out: In

What I miss: definitely soda and staying up late

What I am looking forward to: more movement and May 9th!

Milestones: Every day movement!

I know, I know, these are getting a little boring, but I'd like to have them to look back in, so I'll have to bore you with my unchanging pregnancy.

Week 17

Another quick update, since that all it seems I have time for these days.

How far along: 17 weeks 1 day

Total weight gain: 11 lbs.

Stretch marks: Not yet

Maternity clothes:  Yes, pretty much everything now.  Did find some good buys at Macys in their Motherhood section and luckily had a gift card from Xmas!

Sleep: Weird dreams and SO.FRICKIN. TIRED. still

Cravings:  Salt and vinegar potato chips

Best moment this week:  Not pregnancy related, because can't think of much on those fronts, but seeing my cousin Amber today was fun.

Movement:  I think for sure I felt the baby at the beginning of this week, usually at night after dinner (which was when I first feel Gage).  Felt some prodding and poking- not so much in the last few days though.

Gender: Usually it's Princess "I" if you ask Gage. Lovingly named after his one and only, Princess Pea, from Super Why! However, one day in the past few weeks he's said 'Baby Goy'.  Find out for sure on the 9th......so.long.to.wait (25 days)

Labor signs: Heck no!

Bellybutton in or out: In

What I miss: definitely soda

What I am looking forward to: May 9th!

Milestones:  Hitting 10lbs of weight gain??

Dr's appt was quick on Monday and disappointed I couldn't find out sex until the 9th.  They pretty much refused to do an US before then.  Put me on iron to help me feel a little less tired, but nothing else to report.

Week 16

I missed out on the update last week so here it is for Week 16- 4 weeks away from finding out whether it's a boy or a girl!  I head back to the dr. on Monday.

How far along: 16 weeks 1 day

Total weight gain: As of today, 8lbs.

Stretch marks: Not yet

Maternity clothes:  Oh yes, had to face the music....some of my shirts now are even getting too short.  Went on a maternity shopping spree yesterday and realized I had forgotten how ridiculously expensive stuff is.  I borrowed alot last time that was unavailable to me this time....grrr.  And for the life of me I CANNOT find any pants.  Very frustrating.
Sleep: A little better these days.

Cravings: Can't think of much....some things will just hit me at the spur of a moment and I need it right.then.  It was a Heath bar Blizzard on Wednesday, cucumbers yesterday.  Who knows?

Best moment this week:  Enjoying the beach with my family and finally realizing that I feel so good again, I'm forgetting I'm pregnant.

Movement:  Quite possibly, maybe.  I started feeling Gage at 16 weeks and last night there was definitely some rumbling going on after I hate jalapeno poppers!

Gender:  Usually it's Princess "I" if you ask Gage. Lovingly named after his one and only, Princess Pea, from Super Why!  However, one day in the past few weeks he's said 'Baby Goy'.

Labor signs: Heck no!

Bellybutton in or out: In

What I miss: Dr. Pepper and Subway sandwiches

What I am looking forward to: Feeling the baby move, for sure and finding out the sex!

Milestones: Feeling like myself again!

Week 14- Quick update

Ok, so Luke's convinced me that my belly looks the same as last week and most of you probably don't need to see it every  week, so here's a quick update instead.

How far along: 14 weeks 1 day

Total weight gain: still holding steady at 7lbs

Stretch marks:  Not yet and have purchased the cocoa butter!

Maternity clothes:  Had to...wore 2 pairs of maternity pants this week- all my shirts are still long enough and probably will be for a while.

Sleep:  It's a lost cause.

Cravings:  Earlier this week it was Tropical Smoothie, until I realized they didn't sell my favorite smoothie anymore!

Best moment this week:  Not related, but hearing my little boy say 'I love you' just for fun!

Movement:  No, but looking forward to it...hopefully only a few more weeks.

Gender:  Princess "I" if you ask Gage.  Lovingly named after his one and only Princess Pea, from Super Why!

Labor signs: Heck no!

Where have we been?

It's a long story so I guess I'll start from the beginning.  I've been looking for a cute way to make the announcement, trying to get Gage to tell you guys himself, or get a picture of him in his cute new shirt, but as I said, I have been highly unmotivated after work these days.  Some nights it was all I could do to play with Gage for a few hours, feed him dinner, put him to bed and then all I wanted to do was rest.  So I'll just come out with it!  This soon to be baby is taking it ALL out of me.  That's right, we're expecting and Gage will be a big brother in late September.  Old news it seems since EVERYONE is pregnant this year.  It's a repeat of when Gage was born.

In any case, I was hardly sick with Gage at all, tired, but not really sick.  But when you have no other kids, you can sit on your ass after work and not have to worry about anything.  You can eat cereal for dinner and go to bed whenever you want.  So that might have something to do with it.....but this time I.WAS.SICK.  I felt horrible EVERY day and EVERY night for a long time.  I think that's why the 1st 12 weeks drug by soo slowly this time.  I am right at 12 weeks, as of yesterday and feeling much better.  I still have my moments and I'm still crazy tired, but things are looking up.  And I'm feeling some of my motivation coming back, which is awesome.  I sure hope for the 2nd trimester that I had with Gage when I didn't miss a beat and every day I almost forgot I was pregnant.  However, up until now everything has been different with this one, so we'll see what that means.  What it means to me, by the way, is it's a GIRL.  Gage thinks it's a girl and I have from the beginning.  I'm putting it in print now, so you all can joke on me when it's not.

I'm already starting to show and can't button most of my pants.  Kinda made it hard at work when I was trying to hide it.  Luckily I had a few pairs of pants from after I had Gage and went back to work that were kinda big on me.  I've been wearing those, along with my 'stretch' pants from NY&Co. and they have held me over, but it won't be long before I have to break out the maternity pants.  Oh, what fun!

I'm excited to keep this blog during my pregnancy since I didn't have that luxury before when I had Gage.  I kept a journal, but not an online one.  I also never did the weekly updates either, so I'll have to find one I like and start it next week.  I just haven't even been able to write anything in the last few weeks/months.  Not only because I was so tired and sick, but also because everything that went through my head and everything I wanted to write about centered around Gage becoming a big brother and us becoming parents of two.  I really couldn't think of much other than that.  Now that we are at 12 weeks and heard a healthy heartbeat on Wednesday I feel the need to share and hopefully share I will.  More to come....

By the time I get done writing this post, it has been exactly 9 months to the second almost that I was sitting here in this very spot, doing EXACTLY what I'm doing now...blogging and watching football when my water broke.  Not only was it on the 13th of November, but FRIDAY the 13th as well.  In just 12 short hours, my  baby Gage Paxton will have been out of my belly for longer than he was in it.  It is so bittersweet.  He is getting SO big SO fast (he is even wearing BIG boy PJ's tonight) but I have been loving every second of being with him this summer.  I can't believe it is almost over and that he will be going to daycare very soon.  Until then, we have one more week at home and one week at the beach (glorious vacation).

Two birthday posts tomorrow and a letter to my 9 month old son...

Friday the 13th...

Well Friday the 13th has officially come and gone and as I had wrongly predicted, there is no baby. Ah well, I slept better last night so maybe right now that should be my focus, since so many say I'll never sleep again....

I ran some errands today and Ace got a bath and a haircut (which he was not too thrilled about). This weekend won't bring anything interesting except the token Saturday filled with football. Took my computer in today, cross your fingers they're able to get some of the data off. Other than that, nothing to report. Check back in about a week if I'm boring you. At least I'll have another dr's appt. to report on.

Still Counting...and now not sleeping

Well, I was officially wrong. Went to the dr. this am and there is no change from last week ....which really means nothing at all, since some people go from zero to 10 in less than 24 hours and others take weeks. I just hope he decides to come within the next 13 days, but you can't rush these things so I will leave it up to him. (I know, I know, who am I trying to convince?) Anyway, the dr. I saw today is on call Friday so I told him I'd see him then, he said he hoped so... I did lose 2 lbs this week which is what happened to a friend of mine right before she went in to labor, so I will bet on that one.

The good news is, (or not so good) is that my computer crashed last week and all of my grad school work from the last few weeks is gone, but at this point I'm not doing it over. I have other, greater things in my life to worry about. Thank God I got my 20 page paper turned in before it died. I knew it was going to happen... a few weeks ago it was acting funny and Luke claimed he fixed it. I should've been backing up EVERYTHING, but that's not something I would think of doing with a less than a year old computer that shouldn't crash at any minute.

The other good news is that I am now not sleeping either. Everyone told me it was hard at the end but I had been doing fine up until about Sunday. Ah well, I'll live, not like I have to go to work anyway...speaking of work, if GPI doesn't get here soon, all of my sick leave will be sucked away!

Hopefully the next time you read this, there will be pictures of the little guy to post. Here's to Friday the 13th!

40 weeks and counting...

Week 40

If you checked in today, you would've seen that my baby widget said my baby was one day old. FALSE! ha...I was actually interested in what it would say past the due date. Earlier, it said it was go time, which obviously it was not. You would think they would make those a little more accurate, huh, since virtually noone has their baby exactly when they are supposed to! In any case, I go to my 40+ week appt. in the morning and my prediction is 3 cm, 80% effaced....I will also have to see who is on call Friday so I will know who will deliver my baby.;)

To be Continued...

Only 2 more days to go...(or so they say)

I said my good byes on Friday in hopes that I wouldn't be back for my promised half day tomorrow. But since my sub doesn't start until Thursday and I haven't had this baby yet, I'm guessing I'll be there tomorrow for the 2nd half of the day. After that, I will be patiently, or anxiously, awaiting the arrival of my baby! Today we'll have lunch and watch football with Jamie, Brad and Jacob in my last hurrah before our lives change forever. We also managed to sneak in one last movie last night before we can't go to one of those for a while either. We saw Paranormal Activity but it wasn't scary enough to make me go into labor. I don't know why I keep thinking at any second I'm going to burst. I am still convinced I will have this baby on Friday the 13th, so I have another week of getting things together around here and maybe I'll even start the slew of Thank You notes I need to write.

We got a few more gifts Friday, which was nice. A few people from work gave me some things and Summer sent me the cutest homemade moccasins! We still have a few things to take back so I might get to Target this week....or I'm sure we'll eventually need to go on a diaper/wipe, etc. run, so either way they'll get taken care of.

5th period party

My kids were so sweet today. My 5th period class threw me a little party complete with a cake and presents and everything. I knew they were planning something but I figured some sweet treats would be the extent. But I received a gift card, 2 outfits and some lotion and body spray. I will be sad to leave my class for a while, but I can't wait to meet baby G!

Belly Shots/Halloween 2009

Here are a few pictures of my HUGE belly at Week 38/39!

Jasper and Ace were so excited to dress up for Halloween! However, Ace rocked the vampire costume much better than Jasper.

And here is our super cute neighbor, Evie!

One week to go....

Week 39

Had my 39th week appointment today and not much has changed since last week. I was hopeful but people kept telling me this was probably the case. People also keep telling me how HUGE I am and ask me when I'm going to have this baby. I have to say, sometimes I forget I am even pregnant. I am really feeling great and have nothing to complain about and if he wants to stick around another 3 weeks then so be it. He will need the time and I have faith he will come when he is ready.

My last day at work is Friday which is pretty sweet, even if I am sitting around waiting for him to show up.

So I finally succumbed to the H1N1 vaccine. After weeks of research, Luke and I pray we made the right decision for me and Baby GPI. I guess time will tell. I do feel good knowing that he might be protected for the 1st 6 months of life because I am still carrying him. So the waiting game begins I guess. I have 6 more days until I am 40 weeks and then 20 days before induction if he doesn't get here before that.

It has finally come to this....

All of those thousands of things that everyone told me would happen during pregnancy never did. I have to say compared to horror stories I've heard, that I've had one of the easiest pregnancies ever and I have to be thankful for that. However, just in the last 24 hours, some of those things have finally surfaced. I FINALLY had to part with my rings today, they no longer fit...for some reason in the last day I have started to swell and retain water. Now, don't get me wrong, I can't complain when some can't wear their rings after only 4-5 months. I think I can live without mine for 10 days. I have gained 4lbs. since Wednesday in water weight as well and I am EXHAUSTED. Only a few more days to hold out. 23 at the most. ( I am being induced on the 24th if he's not here before then) However, I have complete faith that he will come in his own time and be here before he is forced. Only 5.5 more days of work, wish me well.

Happy Halloween!

I was hoping I might have a Halloween baby so that we could have a costume party every year for his birthday. But no luck! Oh well, maybe he wouldn't like having his birthday on a holiday anyway. So this year, we are being kind of lame, since there are no Halloween parties and I'm really starting to wind down. My parents are coming and we'll hand out candy tonight to all the cute neighborhood kids. They are calling for rain, it's beautiful right now, I hope for the kids' sake it will hold off. Baby GPI continues to do somersaults in my belly and I think sometimes he's looking for a way out. We shall see what transpires over the next week. Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Only 2 more weeks to go!!

Week 38

I meant to begin updating this blog 2 weeks ago when I only had a month left. But who knows, at this point, I might still have a month left! Not much to report other than pictures of the nursery and Baby GPI's first concert- KISS. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of that, but he did get to go when he was just -4 weeks old. Currently I am 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced, which pretty much means nothing at this point. I am still guessing I have about 2.5 weeks left. The doctor says about 3. Check out the pictures, we LOVE the way the nursery turned out!
