Day 7

Today I am thankful for my loving husband who is not only a wonderful Dad to our two sons, but who left work early yesterday so that I could stand in the hour long line (in the cold) to vote and not have to take Ezra with me.  It was really important that we voted and not much was going to stop us. Thankfully it paid off...Luke is also staying home with Ezra for 4 weeks after I go back to work to delay daycare as much as possible.  He did the same with Gage and we are thankful that his job allows that.

30 days of thanks: Day 4

Today I am thankful that Luke and I both have steady, reliable jobs that we love, that pay decent and have security. We know not everyone is so lucky!

And by the way, here's something to ponder....Gage loves brown M&M the best- he thinks they are the only ones with chocolate.... Today when he was eating a mini bag from Halloween he saved those for last. No one has ever taught him that- do you think saving the best for last is innate? I would've never thought so, until today....

Oh, high school students...

Digressing away from my normal posts about Gage I wanted to share a conversation I had today with a student of mine.  She shall remain nameless (Q) because I am certain that noone else on Earth would ever spell her child's name like this and you know for confidentiality reasons.  Anyway, it went something like this....

Me:  Q, can I see you for a minute?
Q:  (rolling her eyes, she came walking towards me)
Me:  Do you have anything else to put on?
Q:  What?  No, why?
Me:  Don't you think your outfit is a little inappropriate?
Q:  None of the other teachers said anything, no, why?
Me:  Q, you have NO pants on!

After I proceeded to tell her she would need to go down to see administration, she began chatting w/ her friends.  "There's all these white girls around wearing short skirts and you can see their booty and noone says anything to them".

Me:  Q, you have NO pants on....those girls are wearing something.

I tell you, my days are never boring.

*Q was wearing a T-shirt and leopard print pantyhose as her outfit today.  The windchill was in the 20's!
