A Little Congrats...

This week must have been National Baby Week as we've known 3 babies born in 4 days, plus 2 more kids with birthdays this week.  So just a little Congrats to Shawn and Ann or their baby girl, Ada June (4/20), Brad and Bonnie on their baby boy, Blaine Chandler (4/22) and Brett and Meg, on their baby boy, Flynn Joseph (4/24).

We also wish Kellen (4/22) and Sawyer (4/24) very Happy Birthdays turning 2 and 3, respectively!  Now I know what everyone does in late July!

Project 52: Week 16

Lame!  Only 4 days again this week.  I just can't remember to take pictures during the week and then when I do, I think....wow, this is the same picture I took yesterday or the day before....our pm routine is the exact same 4 nights a week.....I.will.try.harder.

I'm aware of my addiction to photographing sleeping babies

Dear Ezra- 7 months

Dearest Ezra

You continue to get bigger and older on me each month.  How exactly does that work?  Seven months is closer to a year than it isn't.  That's just crazy.  This letter only comes 2 days late, pretty good, if I do say so myself....ha.  Ezra, you are such a happy child.  You only get upset when your bottle is done, the milk's not coming fast enough or we sneak veggies in between bites of fruit.  You are eating 2 meals a day now- breakfast and dinner- although day care would like to believe you need more solid food, but I'll hold off on that until next month.

At 7 months Ezra, you weigh about 17 lbs and are quickly outgrowing your 6 month clothes.  You are pretty much in all 9 months, although 6 months pants fit you in length.  Some of Gage's old pants still fit b/c they're old and stretched out, but your fat belly and booty, I might add, make it difficult for you to wear some 6 month pants.  Although you still don't like to nap at school, you take a 9am, noon and 4pm nap here at home.  They are short, but consistent.  Now, we just have to figure out how to get you to sleep at school.  I pick you up at 4pm, you nap until 5pm, you eat b/w 515-530pm and go to bed by 615pm.....I have no time with you during the week and it makes me sad.  At least summer is just around the corner.  Just this weekend, I can see 2 more teeth sprouting through your gums, funny though, it's your top eye teeth....you'll look quite amusing if they come fully in before the other 2-4 in between.  You are officially sleeping through the night and have been since Easter.  You eat around 5am before you go to school, then you have bottles at 9am, noon and around 3pm.  You eat again after your solid dinner, right before you go to bed and sleep all the way through the night.  In the last month, you have mastered sitting and although we still put a Boppy around you if we walk away, you're getting pretty good at sitting on your own and catching yourself if you fall.  Lately you enjoy playing with your dinosaur popper and musical turtle.  This month you have started taking a bath in your ducky tub and it won't be long until you get to play in the big bathtub with Gage.  I tell you, Mommy is counting down the days 'til that, it will make bath nights SO much easier.

You have become quite the giggle box lately and you still love to watch Gage.  You are trying your hardest to get where you want to go by inching and rolling.  You aren't quite 'mobile' yet, but I have a feeling next month's letter will be much different.  You also have one consonant sound....not the normal 'b' or 'd', but 'g'.  Perhaps you're trying to say Gage's name.  Leave it to my kids for Daddy not to be your 1st word.  You still love to sleep in the car and took your 1st ride in the big boy stroller today.  I want to get you out in the jogging stroller but the wheels are flat....gotta fix that.  Nothing too exciting since your last letter, but in the next month, you'll get to celebrate your 1st Mother's Day and hopefully get to play on the beach for the 1st time.

I'm at a loss, other than to say, we love you so much Ezra and you continue to bring joy into our lives every day.  It's awesome to watch yet another one of my kids grow up and both of you change so much each and every week.  I'm counting down the weeks until I get to spend the whole summer with both of you!  I'm super excited to see what kind of trouble we can get into!  We love you so much, Ezra Jude!

What's Been Going On...

I want to blog so bad guys, I really do.  I want to let you know what's going on with us and tell you how we spend our weekends, but by the end of the day I'm just too exhausted.  I have good intentions, especially Sunday nights to sit down and write out a few posts for the week.....it just doesn't happen.  Any free time I have I want to read other people's blogs, watch TV or just chill out.  I have things I want to document on here, if not for anyone other than myself, but time just catches up with me and it just doesn't happen.  Our weeknights around here are pretty routine and there's little to no time for anything until the boys go to bed and then I start the routine of getting ready for the next day.  So not much to tell then, but I'd like to share our weekends sometime.  At least I'm still going with my Project 52 so I'll at least know something that went on each week of 2013.  There are a few posts I'd like to write too, for sake of a baby book.

This past weekend was amazing weather, not amazing like 80-degree-summer-came-too-soon like last week, but like mid 60s to 70s. Gage got to go on a play date, to the park with Daddy and for a family walk. And we ate entirely too much ice cream in the last week.  Ezra didn't get to spend too much time outside, but I'm going to try soon to get him out in the grass for some fresh air.

Speaking of Ezra, when we were at his 6 month well check, which I'm pretty sure I didn't post about the doctor called him weak and lazy.  I wasn't offended but he was definitely not trying to show off for her that day.  She said he'd be a late crawler, but so was Gage so again, I wasn't surprised.  However, Ezra has proved to be very different than Gage in every way and this will be no different.  Ezra will crawl before Gage.  Gage could rotate at this age, as Ezra does, but E is almost up on all fours and at times, inching with his hiney in the air.  He has moved forward, by half rolling and half inching.  I know some kids roll to get places, Gage never did, but I think Ezra is for sure gonna figure it out.  He does a whole lot less 'flying' now and more getting up on his knees now.  It definitely won't be long.

Currently, Gage is still taking his music class on Sundays and is obsessed with all things marching bands and musical instruments.  He is also obsessed with Jake and the NeverLand Pirates and can quote the entire opening scene.  His obsessions seem to change weekly/monthly, but when he becomes fixated on something, boy does he?  Is this normal toddler behavior?  I'm thinking it probably is, but since he's my first one, I guess I really don't know.  Gage continues to crack us up on a regular basis- he is really quite the witty, funny kid these days.

What's in store for us?  This weekend Ezra is 7 months old, HOLY COW and I'm hosting a jewelry party while Gage and Luke head down to Blacksburg for Gage's 1st ever live football game.  Hopefully another update won't be so long coming.

Project 52: Week 14

Once again, quite the fail at taking pictures this week.  The fact that I'm posting is a step in the right direction.  I've gotten out of the habit though and I need to get back in it....I'm missing things!
